We used J A Cain to sell our Camberwell property after a last-minute decision to sell after relocating to Brisbane.

The first thing we noticed was the great customer service and response time we got back from them and in particular from Chris who was our real estate agent. From the offset we could see that J A Cain were very knowledgeable about the market and selling houses under auction. It was always made very clear to us what we should focus on when selling the property and we were given excellent advice about the overall process.

During the sale we were interstate and we found the communication and interaction during this process to be excellent. After 23 years of living in, renovating and loving our home at 1 Beryl St, Glen Iris we decided to move to the country and without hesitation or shopping around for an agent to market our home we walked back into JA CAIN’s office to discuss our request, with the family we bought the property through all those years ago. The Glen Iris house is a weatherboard Californian Bungalow. It did have renovation potential, and this point was made to potential buyers. But it was always likely that the property, which is covered by a single-dwelling covenant, would be sold for redevelopment - which is what happened.I was most impressed by the way Bryan conducted the auction. He and I had the same reserve price in mind from the outset - no argument there! But I was alarmed when the bidding stopped well short of the reserve. After quietly assuring me that I shouldn't worry, Bryan returned to his task, got the bidding going again and with cool, unhurried confidence nudged the price well beyond the reserve.
The result he achieved set a record top price for a property in Malvern Avenue, which has seen many real estate deals in recent times. I understand that it is still the record for a property sold for redevelopment.
